ACUPUNCTURE

Contemporary Medical Acupuncture is a safe, non-invasive therapy used to promote natural healing and reduce pain. Acupuncture needles are very fine, flexible and slide smoothly through tissue so they do not cause tissue damage. Many acupuncture points are located near nerves, motor points, receptors and trigger points. These points are then stimulated with a current to trigger the central nervous system to help stimulate or inhibit certain functions of the body. Needles are typically left in place for 15 to 30 minutes. Some forms of regulation include spasm inhibition, muscle activation, vasodilation, and pain modification.

Acupuncture has been known to provide effective, natural treatment for many conditions, including:

  • Headaches

  • Back and Neck pain

  • Digestive difficulties

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Chronic pain

  • Muscle fatigue

  • Joint pain

Contemporary medical acupuncture can be used to activate muscles that are too weak, loosen muscles that are too tight and restore conductivity in the nerves that supply them.

COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

Also known as facial rejuvenation acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture is a safe, non-surgical treatment designed to reduce the signs of aging. It is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This highly effective treatment involves inserting very thin disposable needles into various points in the face and body for a treatment which addresses the whole person and the underlying issues contributing to skin health. One cosmetic acupuncture treatment increases circulation to the face thus providing nutrients and stimulating the growth of new collagen. Each treatment has additive effects with the end result being a healthy, younger looking complexion. Combining cosmetic acupuncture with strategies to look younger from the inside out such as nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine and stress management is a comprehensive approach to optimal skin health.

A 10 session course of treatment is recommended at a frequency of 2 times per week for optimal results. Visible, lasting results are typically noticeable after only 6 sessions. After a course of treatment, maintenance sessions are recommended approximately every 4-6 weeks as required. Each individual’s response is unique depending on age and lifestyle.
