TIP #2- FOUNDATION- FOOT WEAR


Shoes!
People still underestimate the importance of investing in a good pair of running shoes. It is extremely important to be fitted by a specialist who understands running, anatomy, and functional kinetics of the body. It is important to make sure that you are 1. running in the right shoe and 2. understand your own running form. 
It is recommend that no shoe should live beyond the 800-kilometer mark, therefore it is of the utmost importance to keep a tally of how many KM have been run in the shoes.

Orthotics!
25% of North Americans have flat feet. Others tend to have instability in their ankles, knees, and hips which cause their body weight to collapse their foots arches having a similar effect to flat feet (pronation). A custom fitted orthotic supports the feet in a neutral position which protects your muscles from repetitive strain and your joints from wear and tear. Orthotics are not the solution to muscle imbalance or joint pains. Orthotics are simply a foundational support to help prevent improper body mechanics.
