🌎Happy World Health Day! 🌎
April 7, 2018

🚶Did you know the World Health Organization states that 1 in 4 adults doesn't get enough physical activity, globally? The WHO recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity weekly. But what exactly counts as physical activity?
💃Physical activity includes all movement through your day. Working, walking to a coffee shop, doing laundry, or dancing at a bus stop all count. Anything you do that requires skeletal muscle movement and expels energy.
🏃Exercise is specifically planned physical activity and is structured, and repetitive. It is aiming to improve or maintain physical fitness. You can think of this as a subcategory of physical activity. So this counts towards your weekly total, but so does all the other activity in your life! (World Health Organization (WHO), 2018)
💪Can you think of ways to not only increase planned exercise, but physical activity throughout your day?
🌎 See the WHO's website for more details and what they are doing to help globally at http://www.who.int/dietphysicalactivity/pa/en/
