Chris completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph where he graduated with Honours and received a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelors of Nutritional Science. Chris continued his education in the United Kingdom at Leeds Metropolitan University, where he completed a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy.
Throughout his 6 years of post-secondary education, Chris has pursued his passion in human health and rehabilitation. Chris has experience in Musculoskeletal, Neurological, Cardio-pulmonary, Sports and multisystem injuries/disorders. As a Physiotherapist, Chris has worked with professional athletes with the Toronto FC and Burnley FC.
Pursuing up to date research and ongoing personal development through continuing education, Chris is continually seeking advanced skills and training in the field to provide the best available treatments and rehabilitation to help you achieve your personal functional goals.
Chris is currently working toward his certification in Manual Therapy through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Chris established Forest Hill Physiotherapy & Health Centre Ltd. in 2014 and is passionate about providing a holistic approach to healthy living with his dynamic team of professionals.
Patrick studied in England at Oxford Brookes University where he graduated with Distinction and received his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor’s of Kinesiology with High Honours at University of Toronto.
Patrick is passionate in providing his patients the highest quality of care with individualized, clinically-reasoned treatments, and patient empowerment. This begins with his thorough approach to diagnosis and treatment that continually seeks to engage his patient in their own rehab journey in order to achieve their patient-specific goals. With his special interest in functional movements, Patrick applies a variety of treatments including mobilizations with movement, active soft tissue release, functional exercises, therapeutic taping, and most importantly education and self-management.
As a physiotherapist committed to clinical excellence, Patrick is always seeking new ways to improve himself as a health care practitioner in order to optimally treat his patients. Since becoming physiotherapist, he has taken post-graduate courses on the Mulligan Concept and is soon to be certified in Functional Movement Techniques and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
Outside of the clinic, Patrick is an avid rock-climber.
Dr. Lemke practices integrative, effective and naturally focused medicine. Using a combination of patient preference and best evidence, Dr. Lemke bridges the gap between traditional eastern medicines and conventional western medicines to provide the most effective yet gentle healing treatments for her patients.
Dr. Lemke practices primarily family medicine with a focus in fertility and perinatal care. As a yoga teacher with a strong background in medical research, Dr. Lemke is able to tease out the best available evidence for therapies, while at the same time, valuing the connection of mind, body and spirit of her patients.
Treating the root cause of disease is a fundamental value of Dr. Lemke’s, and she accomplishes this by taking a thorough health history and using botanical, nutritional and supplemental therapies as well as modalities such as cupping, acupuncture and applied kinesiology to rid the disease from its true source.
Keely brings a range of skills and unique insights to the field of Health and Wellness gained over her fifteen-year, multidisciplinary career. After graduating from university with degrees in Psychology and Rehabilitation Services, Keely was drawn to the ancient practice of Yoga for its multidimensional approach to healing body and mind. For two years she lived and studied in India, becoming a certified Yoga Instructor and Reiki Master.
Keely’s hands-on approach to Yoga gained a loyal following. After hearing many times in her classes that she had an intuitive and compassionate touch, she went on to study Thai Massage in Thailand, combining her dedication to health and healing with her love of travel.
Keely has continued to deepen her knowledge and strengthen her skills over the years. With additional certifications as a Registered Massage Therapist and Acupuncturist, she has a powerful and unique combination of therapeutic modalities at her fingertips. After a session with Keely, many clients describe feeling more flexible, pain free and at total peace.
Kaylie Gordon completed her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors at the University of Western Ontario in 2007, and her Post-Graduate degree in arts and media at Griffith University in Australia in 2008.
Kaylie has had a passion for fitness from an early age and has worked in the health and wellness industry since 2002. In 2012, Kaylie reached her goal of becoming a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor after her 100 hour apprenticeship at the STOTT PILATES head office in Toronto. She is trained in the full repertoire including Advanced Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels.
In recent years her passion for Pilates and travel combined to take her around the world teaching Pilates in such countries as Spain, India and China! Kaylie is currently working towards becoming a STOTT PILATES Athletic Conditioning Specialist. She is committed to helping people reach their strength and conditioning goals!
April Trewhitt is a Registered Psychotherapist, RP, providing counselling at Forest Hill Physiotherapy. April has provided counseling for 10 + years to individuals and families.
April can help you identify obstacles that affect your quality of life, set goals, and develop strategies to help you move through them. She has extensive experience working with people who have noticed an increase in stress as a result of changes in their relationships, employment, pain from an injury and/or accident, parenting, and everyday stressors that feel overwhelming. She also has experience working with addiction, anxiety, depression, and other emotional and mental health experiences. April will work collaboratively with you, creating a space where you are heard and valued, which enables you to move forward with your life.
Depending on the client's needs and preferences, April uses number of therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness approaches. April regularly purses advanced training in psychotherapy to stay current in the field. April also works as the Agency Lead of Addictions at a large community health agency and has also been a part time Instructor at George Brown College in their counselling program.
Dr. Brandon McMechan completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences at Queen’s University prior to graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2010. He is an active member of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the Ontario Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Chiropractic Association.
Dr. McMechan has extensive experience assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries. He uses a combination of hands-on chiropractic care and myofascial release therapies as well as other modalities like low level laser, inferential current and supervised exercise to provide complete patient-centered care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. McMechan is also a competitive equestrian athlete in the sport of Eventing, having represented Canada on the Canadian University Equestrian Team and was top placed amateur at the Jaguar Bromont CCI* in 2016.
Brittany received her undergraduate degree in a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University. She then pursued further education at McMaster University, obtaining her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Throughout her clinical experience, she has had the opportunity to work with a diverse array of populations; including individuals with osteoporosis, acquired brain injury, and children.
As a practitioner, it is important to Brittany to pursue ongoing education and lifelong learning. She has previously taken a Soft Tissue Release course and has participated in various workshops including Choices and Changes and Tobacco Cessation. She is currently pursuing her Manual Therapy levels through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Division, and is excited about future continuing education opportunities.
Brittany is dedicated to taking an evidence-based, holistic, and individualized approach with patients. She is passionate about providing patients with the education and tools they need to understand and manage their conditions. It is important to her to work collaboratively with her patients, to help them achieve meaningful improvements and personal goals.
In her free time, Brittany enjoys being outdoors, dancing, gymnastics, and staying active. She also enjoys finding ways to be involved in the community by supporting charitable organizations that offer rehabilitative services.
Shellie has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2000, and tailors her treatments to suit the needs of each individual. She graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor of Science in 1998 and Received a Diploma in Acupuncture in 2004. She been practicing and teaching Chinese Martial Arts for 14 years and has a keen interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine and enjoys helping people "see" into their bodies. Whether you are suffering from a sports injury, wear and tear of the joints, migraine headaches, frozen shoulder, sciatica, back pain, knee problems, or you simply want a stress-relieving treatment that will rejuvenate--her hands are ready for you. Shellie enjoys working with patients of all ages and all types of cases. She is a runner and a Tai Chi and Qigong teacher. She has been an exercise enthusiast all her life so understands how to treat the active bodies, but also has a special and gentle healing approach to a more vulnerable patient who has been injured or is recovering from surgery or suffering from a condition. She will always leave you with sound tools on how to aid in the improvement of your health.
Kara followed her passion for rehabilitation and fitness, through her attendance at the University of Waterloo for Kinesiology and Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
Working in a wide array of different health settings; as a chiropractic/physiotherapist's assistant, personal trainer and massage therapist, Kara has developed a well-rounded practice for pain management and overall health. She employs a variety of techniques including deep tissue massage, myofascial release and sports massage.
During her spare time, she enjoys strength training and competes in powerlifting. She loves to learn about the human body and the musculoskeletal system and uses her knowledge to better understand how to treat her patients.
Zack completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. He decided he wanted to further pursue his education and enrolled in a Masters Program at the University of Toronto. During his time at UofT, his thesis sought to determine the cardiovascular effects of recreational hockey in middle-aged men.
Following his Masters Degree, Zack became registered with the College of Kinesiology of Ontario wanting to pursue a career as a Kinesiologist. His passion for sport and exercise has led to his desire to help people maintain a healthy lifestyle and recover from injuries in a safe and active manner.
Zack aims to help the people he works with by building a solid foundation of mobility and stability in which to build further strength from. Using a evidence-based approach, you can be assured that the exercises and techniques that Zack uses are both effective and enjoyable.
Marina Mammon is a Clinical Social Worker, MSW, RSW who provides counselling at Forest Hill Physiotherapy. She has a psychology degree from York University and a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto (FIFSW). Marina pursues advanced training in psychotherapy to stay current in the field.
Marina can help you identify and address barriers that prevent you from reaching your goals. She has extensive experience working with stress, anxiety, depression and pain. For the past few years she has worked in the area of rehabilitation with individuals who have sustained injuries. She helps individuals better manage pain and stress that can result after an injury or accident.
She also has a background in health and nutrition, which she uses in therapy to help clients contend with food issues such as emotional eating and weight issues. Without dieting she can help individuals reach a healthy weight by addressing the underlying issues of emotional eating.
Alison has lived and loved Toronto her whole life. After completing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition at Ryerson, she started as an administrator for a rehab clinic and has loved the industry ever since. She is currently attending school at Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Alison has over 7 years of experience in health administration. She is passionate about customer service and strives to make your experience at Forest Hill Physiotherapy & Health Centre pleasant and smooth.
In her off time, Alison enjoys taking care of her foster rabbit, reading (especially about health and wellness), and listening to music made before 1980.
Sarah studied Childhood & Society and Sociology at the University of Roehampton in London, England and worked in a variety of administrative positions before joining the health and medical sector in 2014.
Sarah is interested in expanding her knowledge of exercise and nutrition to benefit her own health as well as others through further studies in the coming years.
Her other interests include swimming, reading and writing music.
New to Canada, Sarah hopes to make Toronto her permanent home and is looking forward to experiencing everything that Canada has to offer.
Angeline graduated from the Medical Office Administration program at George Brown College in 2015 and has been working in this field since then. Since arriving in Canada back in 2008, she has worked multiple customer service jobs and volunteered in different neighbourhood offices which established her passion for providing great customer service.
She enjoys fitness, movies, going to concerts and travelling.
Dr. Silvia Kwon is a Toronto-based chiropractor, business owner, and mother to three energetic children. She graduated with honors in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and continued her studies for an additional four years at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2010.
Dr. Kwon practices diversified manual chiropractic, myofascial release therapies, exercise and stretch protocols, Activator adjusting, as well as Webster technique for pregnancy. She is known to build an authentic connection with clients and help them to feel comfortable with her gentle hands-on chiropractic care and professional expertise. She is excited to join our team for the winter of 2020 and looks forward to serving the clientele of Forest Hill Physiotherapy.
